What is Scythe?
Scythe is a simple menulet app that can help you keep tabs on your billable, un-invoiced hours as they are recorded in Harvest, the popular online invoicing and time-tracking tool.
Is Scythe for me?
It depends. If you are a freelancer using Scythe to track your hours, and you typically bill by the hour, then yes! If you are a company with multiple employees or contractors using Harvest, or if you never bill by the hour, then Scythe is not for you (at least, not yet).
How much does Scythe cost?
For now, Scythe is free. Download it, use it, enjoy it, buy a coffee with the money you saved. Some users have suggested that I should charge a small fee (a la iTunes AppStore), which I may do in future versions.
How does Scythe compute a total?
Scythe looks at your current clients, projects, tasks, and time entries to find the number of outstanding, unbilled billable hours and their rates. It is smart enough to tell when you are billing one project by tasks, another by person hourly rates, and another by project hourly rates.
You can also change the way Scythe computes hours by changing the settings under the Advanced tab in the Preferences panel.
How can I request a feature?

How can I get the latest version?
The latest version is always available from the Scythe home page.
If you have version 1.1 or later, then updates will be downloaded automatically for you. You can also manually
check for updates from the Scythe About window:
